Let's move on... update!

See, here's the thing. Lately, I've been looking around for a new place to hang. One cannot stay in one place forever. I've tried a few places, but it just might be so that I've found The place. We'll see. Since I can't figure out how to move everything, don't even know if I can, let's try this for a while..
Welcome to my new site
so, bye, bye blogg.se. At least for a while, perhaps one day I'll come back.

update: silly me! apparently the link led to the old blog. not much use there, but now it should do the trick!

Hobo

I made a little trip to Malmö today, visiting my younger sister's church. There were a lot of young people there, and they had a little special deal for newcomers, so I got a free dinner to bring home. Sweet! I can tell she really likes it there, which I'm thankful for.

Also today my mother sent a few things with some family friends who were coming down here, which I, after getting back from Malmö, went to pick up. They stayed with their son, who studies here as well, and who lives in a really cool dormitory-kinda place. Well, not a dormitory, it's this old building what 12 or so guys share. Really, really cool place! Anyways, I got to stay for dinner, play a little bit on their grand piano (I want one!!) and just hang out a bit. It was fun! I also got to carry all the heavy bags home. SOMEONE, not mentioning any names, but I saw her earlier today, decided they wanted a heavy frying pan from back home. That same someone also wanted a pair of rubber boots, and those things aren't light weight really. But I'm not complaining. Just felt like a hobo with all my bags. Plus the fact that I found a piece of cardboard on the street. Now, I know one just doesn't pick stuff up like that, but I've been looking for it for a long time.. And it didn't smell, don't worry, I checked.

Am I crazy? No, whatever gave you that idea?

About a song

I'm back, and I had a wonderful time! I'm soon off to bed, it's getting late, but we started listening a little bit to Kristina från Duvemåla right before I left the girl's apartment. Cissi, who lives there, wrote in her blog a couple of days ago about a song that made her wanna run out and kiss somebody. Well, I know two songs that makes me wanna run away and marry someone.. You have to listen to the first one first, then it's mostly the beginning of the second (also, when they sing together again around 4.23.. but of course I love his voice, so I'd listen to the end as well..)

Now, off to bed. Night!

House warming-party

The apples in the ceiling are starting to dry up a bit. Still smells delicious. I'm heading out now, Cissia and Amanda are having a house warming-party, and I'm sure they're gonna have one or two (or three) tasty, tasty things there.. Not that that's the main reason for going! ;) I found a bunch of stuff at the flea market today as well. Gotta love them.

See ya

Movie

I've seen it a million times, but it's so adorable! I love the dialogue, with quotes like;

"Happiness isn't happiness, without a violin-playing goat.."

and the classic, cheesy yes, but cute; "After all.. I'm just a girl, standing in front of a boy, asking him to love her.."

and my favorite; "For June, who loved this garden - from Joseph, who always sat beside her"

You should know the movie by now...

And Friday

After a lazy morning, I took the bike and went to Nova Lund, found myself a beautiful, blue cardigan and a lot of food.. Trying to balance all the bags on my bike, it almost felt like being back in Uppsala again. It always was an adventure getting home from Gränby, hehe. At least I have a basket on this bike! It does help a lot!

Inspired by another blog (who was inspired by another blog), I decided to start a little project..

I turned some of them in cinnamon and brown sugar, and it smells so good in here now! Just like Christmas. After making myself an eggplan gratin, the Christmas smell is mixed with garlic.. Strange as it may sound, it is perfect. Almost a bit intoxicating, in the best sense. A cup of tea, and of course, some popcorn and chocolate (hmm.. I recognize this..?), and I feel completely content. The apples look so pretty in the ceiling!

I hope you all have a wonderful Friday!

Vintage Lady Gaga

Say what you want about Lady Gaga, but deep down, she's very, very talented..

Company..

By the way.

I've done perfectly fine living by myself. But right now, I wish I had some company.. Perhaps I'll have to call Mr Greger back?

Thursday

I decided to buy sushi tonight, didn't feel like making anything. It almost feel like friday, I just relaxed with a movie, tea, popcorn, and some chocolat of course.

It has been absolutely wonderful weather today, and so after the morning's study session in school, I took my lunch and my books with me to the botanical garden. The last day of summer perhaps? I finished one of the books, and watched some guys play american fotball. Made me think about the road trip... I was tempted to walk over to them, showing them how to throw (yes, I learned that), but then I realized they didn't need much help, and I would have had to be far better than I am to show off, hehe.

Anyways, Nikki was with me, and we took some beautiful shots of the settling sun (well, and some sneak shots of the guys ;)

and boys are boys, wherever you find them in the world...

and so.. probably the last time I'll be able to wear these for a while..

Last lecture..

Today we had our last lecture before our first, "real", test. It was a while ago since I last wrote proper essays and such, but I'm not nervous. Yet, that is. For now, I'll be focusing on getting all my reading done, preparing in what ways I can... I found some people in my class to study with, which helps incredibly! Just being able to discuss different point of views, ideas, and trying to teach each other a little bit about what we're reading.. It's a goldmine!

Lund is even treating me with some sun, both today and yesterday, and I am much obliged! My legs are a bit sore, since I yesterday decided to go for a run while it was good weather.. right after my first ballet class. If only I could keep that up for the entire fall semester, I'd be in darn good shape by Christmas ;) I hear those California gurls are un-forgettable, so I better be! No, just kidding. I don't care.

The plan for this evening involves reading (surprise!).. yeah, that's about it as far as planning goes. I found a movie today, goody goody price, perhaps I'll give myself a little treat. We'll see.

Walked through the Botanical Garden earlier today, it's so pretty!

Farmers' girl

It makes me really happy to be able to go to the market and buy some fresh vegetables. It satisfies my inner farmers' soul. I just have to keep myself from buying too much. I have to keep reminding myself that I only have to feed myself, and I don't wanna have to throw away everything..

Blood...

I had an rather exciting day. Ok, perhaps "exciting" is not the correct term to use here.. It's been rather dreary, with the autumn rain accompanying us all day. After the seminary today, I went to the hospital to take some blood samples, to see if I would be able to start giving blood. Since I'm not sick or anything, I'd guessed my blood's pretty good. However, I'm not sure if I'll be able to do it, since I shortly after she took the sample, found myself in a strange dream.. I was watching the tv, and there I was, in the dream. (Intercepted perhaps?) I can't remember, but it was weirder than usual. The weirdest part was suddenly looking up, seeing three nurses bending over me, trying to talk to me. As they were starting to come into focus, I realized one told me I had fainted, which would explain why I had cold sweat dripping down my back, and also why my feet were hoisted up in the air.

I actually think the nurse taking my sample, was more chocked than I was. She definitely didn't think it was a good idea for me to give blood, but after getting my head together, and talking to my mum for a bit, I've decided to give it another shot anyways. I will not let this stupid weakness stop me! If I faint next time as well, perhaps I'll have to reconsider, but hopefully it was just a one-time thing. I guess I'm more frail than I thought.

the toughest gal in town..

Anyways. I'm pretty much ready to go to bed, haha. But I'm gonna read for a little bit longer..
Night

A complicated situation..

And so Sweden joins it's neighbors and welcomes a political party with racist characteristics into their gorvenment. A proud day to be a Swede. Or not. Not at all actually.

My hopes are that they won't be there long. 4 years, if it doesn't collapse earlier, and then we'll kick them out. I truly hope so.

Oh well. We'll see what happens..

Sis

And this is how it might look when you're studying. If your name is Andrea, that is.
